International Mailing Shipping Tips

Shipping internationally doesn't have to be stressful. Here are some tips to help you along your way:

1. Research shipping fees: It's always best to know ahead of time how much your costs will be. You can review USPS International Shipping and Mailing services here: https://www.usps.com/send/service-chart.htm?

2. Invest in wrapping and cushioning for your package. DO NOT reuse food boxes as some countries will not allow its entry due to fears that it might carry food-borne diseases.

3. A little bit about Customs Forms: The forms you'll need will depend on the service you are using and the declared value of your mail. According to USPS, you'll need a customs form for all international mail except "First-Class Mail International items and Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelopes that weigh less than 16 oz and are no more than 3/4" thick, and which contain only documents." 4. If you ship items a lot, invest in a postal scale. Also, when you weigh your items, weigh it inside the box (with packaging) that you intend to use.

5. To save you more time, packages (both international and domestic) that weigh less than 13 oz, with postage affixed, can be dropped in USPS mailboxes or handed to your mail carrier. Packages over 13 oz must be brought in to the Post Office.
